Brian and I finally arrived in Texas on Sunday. We aren’t citizens of Texas yet, but we’re also not citizens of Illinois. Since I don’t really belong to a state right now, I’ve been thinking about the many facets of citizenship.

What does it mean to walk with God? What does it look like? What does it feel like? How do you know if you’re walking with God? How do you know if you’re not? How does one find God’s stride? How difficult is it to keep up? What happens if you lag behind, or run ahead?

There are two days which I am looking forward to with great anticipation: 1) the day the Lord returns! And 2) the day after Election Day! I would be fine with the Lord returning first, but I’m really ready for the political robo-calls, junk mail and TV and radio ads to end!

There are lots of reasons why it’s hard to pray, and one reason is simply time – it takes time to pray and I’m busy. Isn’t grabbing a few minutes in the shower, or while I’m running errands sufficient prayer time? Does God really find more here
