Nothing New To See

post174pic2My friend was amazed that I noticed her new kitchen cabinet knobs last week. She’s just now moving and I dropped in on her unannounced and her kitchen looked, well, like someone in the middle of a move. Somehow, I managed to see beyond the clutter and I noticed her new knobs.

post174pic3Maybe it really isn’t terribly odd; having recently moved, I am not distracted by empty boxes and clutter, and I have been in her kitchen several times so I was familiar with it and the knobs simply hadn’t been there before. How could I not see them?

Boy, are we hearing a cacophony of resounding gongs and clanging cymbals of late! There is a lot of name-calling, Bible quoting, hurtful, slanderous, and hateful words tossed around by many angry Christians and with good reason, but perhaps poor judgment.

Christians are writing and saying unkind things to both Christians and non-Christians. There seems to be an air of confrontation permeating every conversational medium and continue here

About a lifetime ago, when our boys were in High School, the driver’s training instructor told all of us anxious parents what to do to prepare our excited children for his class: Take them driving. I don’t think he wanted to be the first person to sit next to a teenager who had the keys for the first time!

Do you remember the day you got your license? I do! And I’ve no idea how I passed the driving test; I didn’t know how to drive. All my friends told me what the written test would be like so I memorized the rules of the road. I knew I’d have to parallel park so I learned that, too. I passed both tests on the first try.
