One Man’s Treasure

Frank, and Mike — you know who I mean, and if you are like me, you watch them often. American Pickers is one of our favorite TV shows, and these three people are the reason.

Their personalities are fun, but it is their wisdom and knowledge of all things old that causes us to continue here

Wise Wedding Words

On Friday and Saturday I was privileged to attend the wedding ceremonies of two couples where both the bride and groom each love the Lord more than the they love the person to whom they vowed to spend the rest of their lives as husband and wife.

Truth be told, I continue here

The Missing Piece

This puzzle continues to drive me crazy! Three years ago, while my grandsons and I were working it, we lost a piece. While we were working the puzzle. It was there one minute. It was gone the next.

I’m serious. We put the entire puzzle together. Then we took it apart, and when we put it together again, it was gone. I looked everywhere. In the continue here

Seeing Clearly

blog242pic1We all know the ending to the Gospel of John and oh, how we love the wonderful reinstatement of Peter. The three times Jesus commissions Peter to feed his sheep beautifully parallel the three times Peter denied Jesus. Nevertheless, have you pondered the next thing Peter says to Jesus?

Lions And Tigers and Bears!

post223pic1_edited-1Yes! It’s finally time to pull the suitcases out of the closet, dust off the passports and head to the airport – we’re going to visit the kids in the UK! I can hardly wait to get this show on the road. I’m excited for the new destination and the sweet reunion that awaits us.

When I tell people that we are flying to Europe, the first thing some people ask is not, “Are you so excited to see your family!!” it’s, continue here

Light

post221pic2When it is nap time, I sit in the dark with my little grandson, and rock him till he is drowsy, then I put him down and he falls right to sleep. However, if the blind is cracked even a little bit, he holds out, staring at the light. He has learned that light means it is time to get up! The dark is not his friend.

It is not our friend either, the things that we fear most reside in darkness. Hurts. Disappointments. Depression. Oppression. Lies. Sin. Infidelity. Deception. Death. And a host of unimaginable monsters. Continue here
